It still absolutely boggles my mind that yet eugenics was a core factor in my upbringing. As an eXvangelical PK, Dobson had an overwhelming influence on my parents’ child rearing philosophy. FotF played a big role in my childhood.
When I learned about Popenoe a few months ago my mind was blown
No. The fighter has said shit like this before. Dana booked him at this event, for this reason. Now he’s playing CYA, but he knew the idiot would likely say something like this
…distribution between teams and players, just like now.
Then next year tot Rev stays at 6B, but the revenue split is increased from 50/50 to 75/25 in favor of the players, and now there is a $140M floor & $160M cap per team, + min player salary increases, but top earners are restricted to $40M/yr…
Obviously it won’t be this pronounced and strait forward in real life, but a cap is not inherently anti-labor. What matters is the size of the slice of revenue that players earn. That should go up. That’s what matters for labor as a whole.
And more equal payroll across teams is better for fans
…then that’s still a BIG win for labor.
A couple teams will spend less (NYY, LAD, etc) but the vast majority will spend more. The top 5-10% of players may earn less, but > 50% will earn more.
Same total league revenue pie size, but the players’ slice gets much bigger, and the vast majority of players earn more at the expense of the top class. That’s pro-labor.
No, that’s not true and displays a fundamental lack of understanding of the situation. Correlation ≠ Causation.
Let’s say that currently the league collectively makes 6B in revenue per year ($200M/team avg) and spends 3B a year in total salary ($100M/team avg, 50% of Revenue), but it’s very uneven…
From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I get both sides. They can be cool. But they can also disrupt the natural landscape. And given their height and collective breadth, they have a larger visual footprint than any other form of energy.
But their practicality outweighs the aesthetics by farrrrrr
