The DUA seeks to formally integrate UK universities into the defence sector by recruiting institutions into a strategic network aligned with military objectives, including expanding defence research, promoting defence careers, and embedding industry partnerships across higher education. (2/3)
We reject this deliberate expansion of military influence into higher education and the attempt to reshape universities around defence priorities.
Universities should remain a space of independent inquiry and public good, and must not be shaped by military priorities or political coercion. (3/3)
