#birds This is a (very colorful) Northern Flicker. This bird is larger than many that come to the bath, so the camera image clips its head as it lifts its beak to swallow. The color bands on the cheek and back of the head are stunning! (from about a week ago)
#birds This is a female house sparrow - she is slightly less forceful when bathing than her male counterpart, but she's definitely getting into the splashing part. (from about a week ago)
#birds This is a male house sparrow. He's energetically splashing - and all his wet rumpled feathers make him look like a mess (a cute one...but a mess). (from about a week ago)
#birds A female Baltimore Oriole. I've never seen this bird before - so this is special... It's made two visits so far in the last couple of days.
#birds This is a Gray Catbird. The dark cap on t he head makes it look quite dapper! I think this is the first year we've had this many appearances - I suspect a nesting pair someplace nearby. (this is from about a week ago)
