Carney, Ford, Chow and at least one determined heckler with a megaphone are on scene today to announce a 50% cut to development charges for the next three years. Lost Municipal revenue to be offset by an $8.8 billion federal/provincial fund for infrastructure.
Asked about whether the feds support expanding Billy Bishop, Carney mostly just dodges the question. “It’s a shared jurisdiction, and we’re engaged in discussions with the province of Ontario. It’s a very interesting vision. Big possibilities there."
"As a condition of the funding agreement, the federal and Ontario governments will not bear costs for any overruns on the transit line project.” That part sure is a bit ominous, though
