I signed this today. I'm sceptical of the blind trust of people in LLMs, and I don't think LLMs will replace me as a researcher, teacher, and mentor. At the same time, I want to be open to new technologies and see whether and how we can use them fruitfully in our research and teaching.
I know that most of my students and postdocs are already making heavy (and good) use of these technologies, so I consider it a responsibility as an advisor and mentor to understand them, too! I will never stop exercising caution while doing so, though, and therefore I endorse this declaration.
