i didnt have any opinion at all on how to spell 'videogame' until someone sent me that idle thumbs clip about how it should be two words and ever since then i knew it should be one
i couldnt tell you why because i dont have the clip and wouldnt know how to find it but i THINK i remember feeling that without meaning to it made a great case for one word spelling as an object that exceeds the bounds of the adjective video and the noun game
If you're American and making an argument that soccer is the Real name for association football bc it was once widely used and differentiates it from other sports under the "football" umbrella (rugby, american football, etc) I hope that means you're prepared to start calling American football Neffel
