No Mow May is here! š¼ š” š and Iām happy to bee involved!

Snowdon lily is known by many names, e.g. Lloydia & my favourite is in Welsh Brwynddail y mynydd which translates as rush-leaves of the mountain. This describes its glossy, grass-like leaves very well. lloydia is an old name for it and given to Edward Lhuyd who first discovered it in Eryri in 1682.

Townhall clock or Moschatel just coming into flower š„°. A musk-scented flower of ancient woodlands. Each stem bears five flowers, one on the top & one on each of the four side faces of a 'clock'. Its name comes from Italian 'moscato' for musk.
