Been digging into spec driven development and to me it feels much more like 'waterfall-in-a-box' rather than agile/XP/pairing or mobbing/ensemble style methods. What's your take on this @jasongorman.bsky.social ?
Just my feed or is the number of CxO asskissing posts after Sales Kickoffs on LinkedIn extremely high this year? Y'all know LinkedIn is a public website and not your intranet, right? As in: *everyone* sees you asskissing. I get it up to a certain point, but some of y'all are going all-in. 🤣
May I hold up the mirror a bit more? DevRel: most report into marketing. Which means they do marketing, aka the stuff they produce is there primarily to sell more products/services. Also: DevRel mostly writes sample apps, not production-grade. All tech looks awesome when writing hello-world apps.
Guy who sells cupcakes says everyone should eat 10 cupcakes a day! That cupcake bakers should be eating 20 cupcakes or get “left behind” This and more “CEO said” news
Conferences: while most conferences have a 'no product pitches' policy, many talks are from DevRel who know how to cleverly disguise a product pitch as a "totally-not-a-product-pitch". Related: sponsored talks. (I'm happy to see alternatives to this btw, like the stuff @monkchips.com does)
In German, but run it through your translator of choice because it's very relevant and holding up a mirror to many in our industry.
