Mine would be Balzac’s Cousin Bette
During pipe work in the courtyard on Thursday, Ian and Jason from Gipping Construction made an unexpected discovery: an ammonite tucked just 30cm below the surface!
Great book exploring how animals and humans share this planet, not always comfortably.
The Wolf Border by Sarah Hall (published by @faberbooks.bsky.social ) follows wolf expert Rachel returning home to the Lake District to oversee the reintroduction of a pair of wolves to a large country estate.
#books I’m looking for novels that explore World War II from the US perspective. I enjoyed The Naked and The Dead, wondered if anyone has similar recommendations?

This novel deftly explores themes of family, wildness and independence. With an engaging protagonist and the narrative drive of a thriller, you are safe in the hands of a great storyteller.
