Aw, hell. The place ought to be a protected national landmark just for Tres Hombres.
these charts are always fun. Pick hit in this one: The Cars/The Motels double bill sounds like it should be a deep dive into American neon noir
I find it hilarious that this shows up on the MLB feed. On the other hand, I’m enjoying the thought that some happy cricket fan somewhere is playing Remember Some Guys with Mark Ramprakash
there’s usually a crazy big bridge in this picture
uncharacteristically, I can’t find my ticket stub for the game. I think mine went into a babby’s-first-year scrapbook for the lad; it’s in the house but I won’t dig for it
Of course the box score is a feastival of guys to remember. Eric Valent! Johnny Estrada! Eddie Oropesa! Pete Schourek!
Twenty-five years ago today we brought our not-yet-year-old son to his first MLB game. Sox 5, Phillies 4
a short walk from the lake, facing a gorgeous little town square that also has a sweet ice cream shop in the storefront of a 19th-century brick building. (I’d go back there tomorrow, but for the work I’ve taken on.)
There should be a name for the experience of watching the fans of two opposing teams take over your feed, each with their own flavor of angst
the frow show returns! emitting new music & decent-as-possible vibrations from now 'til midnight ET on listener-supported @wfmu.bsky.social, with an extended tribute to the late great doug shaw at around 10ish. wfmu.org/playlists/JJ...

It's sad to see Ardent shut down. Ardent was the most important and successful studio in Memphis, beginning in the late 1960s. I spent a lot of time there and have many fine memories. I loved that the studio and my hometown were a magnet for so many artists. news.radiofacts.com/memphis-hist... 1/2
