The struggle is real
I have 180deg the opposite. Mixes are getting worse (literally more and more muffled dialogue) and cinematography is getting better and better particularly with faster cameras and lenses, and cheaper, lighter, more portable lightning kits.
My take is the problems ppl have w/ looks are subjective.
