2025 was raggedy in so many ways, but it also brought gifts, joy, and beautiful moments with my village.
My 2026 word is alignment—reflecting on who I want to be in the next phase and creating better synchrony with my habits, routines, and goals.
Wishing us all a better year ahead.
I met Victoria Gray, the first person treated with CRISPR. She once lived in constant pain, unable to walk or hold her daughter. Thanks to research, she went from using a walker to hiking a mountain. I’m so grateful for her bravery and the reminder of what science makes possible.

Reading that more than 24,000 grant reviews are being rescheduled due to the shutdown. Because of that only 30-35% (vs 50%) will be discussed at study sections.
