Man... I saw a clip with the Midousuji line jingles, and sometimes it's the little things that make you realise how much you miss a place.
Nakatsu station has a special place in my heart, as it was often the start of a lot of journeys over the years.
General question for #japanesestudy folks: I'm looking into acquiring a decent Denshi Jisho for ongoing intermediate study ownwards, and I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations.
I use online resources like Jisho/Weblio as-is, but I'm looking at a reliable non-device offline option. #langsky
Been watching basketball again over the past few months, and I figured it was time to resume Slam Dunk properly.
A fantastic result for the Knicks. Congratulations.
The 2026-2027 season is looking pretty damn exciting coming out of this. The Spurs will also be hungry to succeed, which will only further this, and there will be some fantastic basketball ahead.
One of the most exciting bits of doing more and more reading in Japanese is that a lot of new structures come up organically.
For example, the forms ~まい (N2), ~ごとき (N1) and ~限り (N2) have come up in a lot of material lately, and that's driven me to learn or reinforce my understanding of each point.
The algorithm is one again boosting 'get to N1 in under 2 years' and 'learn 1000 Kanji in months' videos, and it just... makes my head hurt.
This isn't something that's meant to be speedrun, you're building linguistic skills and literacy. That needs time and reinforcement. It's not a party trick.
Small bonus, but I laughed out loud at this subtle little tribute to Kurosawa's adaptation of Macbeth, Throne of Blood (蜘蛛巣城, 1957), a film that I *REALLY* need to rewatch.
