Currently lazing with a picnic by the river in the pretty Northumberland village of Wark. Can you spot the church in the distance?
This is Heavenfield. Behind the trees is a church, no roads lead up to it, only a pathway through the buttercups.
It is the site of one of the bloodiest battles in Medieval history, around 634, between the Northumbrians and the Welsh.
The photos don't do justice to its sweeping beauty.
