Is it just me or is Prometheus a somewhat unfortunate name for an AI company?

Repeat performance. Safe social systems banned by safety legislation in favour of unsafe but compliance-compatible tech vultures pecking away merrily at the dying body of human dignity.
(2) Palantir have caused trouble for lots of police forces already, like NYPD. Exit costs, like getting off heroin, are very high.

A few points on this rubbish about "cuts" because #Palantir was going to "save" the Met money:
(1) Palantir are the software equivalent of a heroin dealer. "First one free". This is a problem the police should understand.

New Health sec James Murray MP wants the NHS to "put our feet to the floor on reform".
Isn't speeding up and taking risks how people end up in A&E? And isn't it how the NHS ended up with #Palantir?
Big data helped New York's cops bust Bobby Shmurda. But as the NYPD's contract with tech giant Palantir comes to an end, things could get messy.
"Slow down and get your strategy right" seems like better if more boring advice.
Also: define your problem first, not your solution: Murray on the other hand seems to think that AI is the solution, and is hunting for the problems […]

(5) So remember, Chief Constable Rowley: if a strange man comes up to you again and suggests mainlining #Palantir:
Just Say No.
(4) So while the Met police might have been OK with getting hooked on Palantir's products, it wouldn't take so long for the prices to go up. And there's only one dealer on the streets.
