We are hiring! A three year computational postdoc position is available in the Frost Lab at King's College London. Apply here (closes June 25th): www.kcl.ac.uk/jobs/147825-...
1/ Preprint alert 🚨🚨🚨 How do cells decide where an mRNA should end? And how is that decision coordinated with splicing and transcription while the RNA is still being made? Here's what first author @hopem105.bsky.social found 👇
Now out @natbiotech.nature.com ! Do lncRNAs commonly bind 1000s of genomic sites? Maybe they do, but the dozens of studies that report genomic binding maps of lncRNAs are deeply flawed, with probes binding suprious DNA sites rather than RNA-bound ones.

PREPRINT ALERT🚨➡️Genetics influencing #epigenetics: Flanking DNA sequences influence #DNAmethylation maintenance 🧬 It’s been a minute because I needed a media break 🧘🏻‍♂️, but I couldn’t resist popping back for this: We just dropped a new #bioRxiv preprint 😃🤞🏻 BTW I’m looking for (academic) jobs
Absolutely thrilled 💣 to share our preprint 🖨️: "Mapping active cis-regulatory elements from transcription initiation events”. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... We introduce nucCAGE and PRIME to identify active cis-regulatory elements (CREs) and disease-associated, non-coding variants.
Loss is maintenance DNA methylation during cell proliferation/aging etc is not random. Intriguing new findings from the Rao lab show a strong correlation with dinucleotides flanking CpG sites. Seems likely to be important. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Flanking DNA sequences determine DNA methylation maintenance in proliferation, cancer and aging https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.64898/2026.04.09.717557v1

This a very important, and extremely well-executed study from Ralph Grand’s group @uniheidelberg.bsky.social. Congrats to all the authors! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

New preprint! In an fun collaboration with @imaeso.bsky.social and @mirimiam.bsky.social led by Manu F-M, we set to explore the potential adaptation of transposable elements 👾 to host adenine DNA methylation by recruiting prokaryotic DAM methyltransferases: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6.... 1/6
1/n What fraction of the human genome is essential for cells? Excited to share our preprint that explores this question by combining an unusual CRISPR system, phage promoters, and thousands of deletion launchpads. @sudpinglay.bsky.social @jshendure.bsky.social www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

A preprint‼️that's bound to ruffle some 🪶 "Widespread DNA off-targeting confounds studies of RNA chromatin occupancy" led by our Micah Goldrich and Louis Delhaye from Pieter Mestdagh in Ghent. TL;DR we show that many of lncRNA chromatin occupancy obtained are flawed www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
