What's galling to me about the Crystal Dynamics thing isn't even the PR guy interrupting, it's seeing that the "We only use it for ideation to make the most awesome thing possible - it's what our fans deserve!" was clearly a rehearsed and repeated empty talking point. Condescending bullshit.
I've pretty much been thinking about this quote every day for weeks.
The fact that he said this knowing that he would very likely be assassinated in the near future is both chilling and obvious.
He knew what (and who) he was up against, but he also knew who he was fighting for: All of us.
Watch through to the end. The PR person stepping in makes them look so much worse.
I think we need to send a strong message and boycott all AI use in gaming.
Concept artists have historically made game-defining works of art and we should not allow companies to replace them without consequences.
