Thanks Jules! We worked hard to figure this one out. In time, multiple options. We also like Canada Post because you can jaunt over to your local post office to do it if you prefer. Also, we've got a growing list of trusted institutions you can verify through.
A few others saw it differently. A pseudonym is what lets them show up honestly (and safely). Particularly important for folks at risk of real world harm for their identities. Both views are valid. And we figure it's a personal decision. Verification will validate for humanness. Moderation helps.
There was a super early convo between beta testers that was super insightful on this topic. We're talking back when there were maybe 6-800 people on the app. Some people wanted real names and real photos. For them, that is authenticity. It creates accountability, familiarity, and trust.
