"Sky News has verified the identities of everyone from the school who was killed. 120 students, 73 boys & 47 girls, aged from 6 to 13, & 26 teachers, who were killed in the strike". Tom Cheshire reports on the primary school bombed by the US. 120 children & 26 teachers, all murdered.
(1) Andy Burnham is standing on "Change is coming" he will "Change British politics " but if he u-turns away from promises to "end trickle down economics" and becomes Starmer 2.0 the danger isn't just for Labour, its also boosting the extreme right
(2) Starmer stood on left pledges, "Change " promises but veered right towards trying to cut disability benefits, backing war in Gaza, anti-migrant calls and grabbing free glasses. This burned up Labour support + worse created deep cynicism about 'progressive' politics, enabling the hard right

(1)One good thing about Roy Hattersley is when he left the front bench he did not immediately join a privatised industry/lobbyist/set up a consultancy. He just stayed in politics via writing. He was among the last generation of Labour politicians who did not take this previously Tory route...
(2) This is why , even though he was always on Labour's right, he began to be a critic of some of Blair's pro -corporate excesses. The shift, under Blair, to Front Benchers getting more money from big business is a structural economic shift post-Hattersley...

(3) Even those in Labour , like Kinnock as EU commissioner, who did get post Labour politics careers tended not to be directly for privatisers, outsourced, arms firms, lobbyists etc , but for 'political ' positions. (I'd have plenty of criticism of Hattersley, but thats for another day)
(3) Burnham's rhetoric, "end trickle down", is strong , but he is already u-turning (on Waspi women, migrants, benefits) . If he becomes PM with a "coronation " by existing Ministers, without laying out a manifesto of concrete plans in a leadership contest, chances of him going 'Starmer' are high
