A vote on Sen Mohamed’s gun violence prevention package would let the people know where their reps stand on reducing gun violence in our state.
It’s happening!
We’re passing a bonding bill for the first time in several years. Funding is included for the following in 61a:
- Berger Fountain
- Bridge for Youth - homeless youth shelter
- St David’s Center- early childhood education, mental health, pediatric therapy
There is a rumor that the MN legislative deal involves significant cuts to LGA (local government aid).
That is untrue.
This line item is essentially the tax bill involving federal conformity and temporary corporate tax credit trades we had to make with the GOP to get the deal done.

One of Speaker Lisa Demuth's deputies just admitted that he was "instructed not to report" a bill banning assault weapons/high-capacity magazines the Senate already passed.
