It is pretty ridiculous that the US has been dealing with a national benzathine penicillin shortage now for a year with no resolution in site. There already too many cases of congenital syphilis and not having ready access to treat pregnant women leads to this.

Access for epidemiological investigations and contact tracing has been challenged by acts of violence towards healthcare workers and emergency responders highlighting the need for continued efforts to build trust within fragile and distrustful communities.
Uganda is at 19 cases. All of the linked to travel from DRC or exposure in health care settings. No evidence of community transmission so far. Testing is slowly improving, contact tracing is improving. Epicenter is Ituri province of DRC with 94% of cases .
WHO published the latest situation update on the Ebola outbreak. confirmed cases are now at 534 including 93 deaths in the DRC. CFR is about 17% but likely underestimate as investigation seeks to confirm cause of death from earlier in the outbreak.
