There has been a similar uptick in diesel prices. Russia is exporting a lot of diesel (it produces much more diesel than it uses, but not much more gasoline), so if there is a shortage, then it should only affect certain regional markets.
According to the latest federal budget data, Russia recruited 71,216 contract soldiers in Q1 2026, confirming a slow start to the year. However, newer regional budget data indicates stabilization of recruitment at 1,000 per day in April-May.
