Let's not forget the work done by Ruth Coppinger and others on this too. I'm proud of my party's stance on this issue but the people have been fighting for change for decades, and we still have a lot more to do.

I will not, for a second, participate in the retconning of Sinn Féin's reasons for abstention. The SocDems motion addressed key problems highlighted by the independent review. I'm hopeful this new bill will pass but it still leaves behind so many people in the most tragic of circumstances.
