i'm a little disappointed there's no WOTL bonus content nor onion knight/dark knight in FFTIC but the quality of life changes and voice acting are amazing so i'm happy to play it (especially over the fucking mobile phone port)
more remasters/remakes of classic games should be like this legitimately

it's also a really nice touch you can play a port of the PS1 version with the improved WOTL localization
like ~3 hours in and i can already say this is basically a perfect remaster and is exemplary of what a remaster SHOULD be. fft was already a near perfect game and IC really gives it the facelift it deserves. AND YOU CAN CHOOSE TO PLAY THE ORIGINAL IF YOU JUST WANT AN IMPROVED PORT!!

like, the QOL changes where you can reset your position if you make a mistake, and you get a preview of the battlefield when you're placing your units, AND you can force a generic encounter on the overworld for grinding purposes are all amazing changes that alone make this version worth playing
still an all-timer exchange that (unfortunately) still mirrors our reality
apparently yasumi matsuno studied as a political analyst and it really shows with how dense ff tactic's lore and worldbuilding is
