Also, I still cannot stress this enough, that sidewalk leads directly to an entire parking lot reserved ONLY for state and delivery vehicles 24/7. There are 8 open parking spots 40 ft away. This isn't a matter of not having somewhere to park.
Downtown Disney in Anaheim is one of the most confusing places. TONS of people drive to Anaheim to enjoy the pedestrian-only "downtown", where all the food is good, but quite expensive. Yet, apparently no one thinks "we could just have this at home where I live!" Or, "I want my Main St. car free!"
Is this the most optimistic sign in Charlottesville?
Oh...wait. Just not using all the spots for optimal downtown parking or something.
Is this good politics given the district? Or just more climate change denial?
I'd add lockers to this as well. At least in Charlottesville, where garage parking downtown is stupidly cheap (i.e., $1/hr), a major perk of driving is having a place to put your stuff. I like biking downtown directly after work, but having my bag with me isn't ideal.
I share this opinion. What other travel questions should we answer? What flight do I take? What speed should I drive? Do I need two queen beds or one king? Which subway car should I ride in? You're an adult, just figure it out.
Annnnd we're back. It's been a good year or two. New signs, better awareness, maybe my endless complaints made a big difference in keeping vehicles out of pedestrian areas near Engineers Way at UVA. But somehow the temptation always remains.
