Statement by Oxfordshire Liberal Democrat MPs and council group leaders on the planned Oxford Union event on Wednesday 17th June.
There should be a statutory obligation to bring road deaths to zero, just as Oxfordshire County Council have done.
Figures show that the number of people killed or seriously injured on Oxfordshireβs roads fell by around 18% in 2025, this compares to a 20% increase across the Thames Valley that year
Last week I met some incredible young people from our community at the Abingdon Youth Summit.
They said they wanted MPs, councillors and business leaders to raise their concerns at the highest level.
That is why I read out a section of the letter they wrote for us in the Health Committe today.
Delightful to see Isabell Poppelbaum yesterday, the Deputy EU Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
We discussed the EU-UK reset deal, and how we can work to bring the UK closer to Europe.

I was shocked to see the 'Great Israeli Real Estate' event take place in London this weekend.
I and my Lib Dem colleagues have long called for a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements.
The Government should not only place sanctions on individuals, but also on those that fund them as well.
Today marks 10 years since the tragic murder of Jo Cox.
I will be thinking of Jo and her family, and remembering the immense contribution which she made to public life.
In a world which feels increasingly polarised, Jo's words that 'we have far more in common than that which divides us' feel all the more important.
We all have a duty to honour her legacy, by working across divides and spreading a positive message of hope and not hate in our communities.
𧡠The Government has today announced a ban on social media for under 16's.
After months of delay, the Government have cobbled together restrictions on social media for young people, but we need a policy which will last and hold big techβs feet to the fire.
