A classic mistake: believing we need to teach students how to use the latest technology when really what has always been true is we need to teach students how to maximize their own potential. A student who can do that will be able to use any technology.
Can we go back to days like these, when academic publishing had a bit of whimsy?
The review is terrific.

How is it that I did not know there's a great schnitzel sandwich place near me? I mean, not counting my mother-in-law's place.

Here’s yours truly, giving a keynote address at the @leopoldina.org conference where I talked about self-regulation and its role in education and the modern world.
Such a pleasure and honor to speak with these leader educators.

Lots to unpack and critique in this article. I am interested in whether there is any evidence of “grade inflation” affecting long-term, post-education outcomes. “Potentially” isn’t good enough for me.
"As for the longer term impact of grade inflation, another study, which Denning co-wrote, determined that average grade inflation in high school decreased the likelihood of college enrollment and potentially harmed future employment and earnings."

Helpful overview by @caseynewton.bsky.social of how Meta has shifted its stance as political and economic winds have shifted. This is disappointing but unsurprising. People should support the platforms that adhere to their values and help them live a better life, and walk away from the rest.
Delphi study of Danish IRB members on how ethical guidelines must be changed when education research involves AI. Some non-obvious yet important findings here that should be considered when doing #GenAI in Education research.
