When they started doing celebrities doing voices in cartoons they used to be people who could open a movie without the ip. Chris Pratt can’t do that. Hollywood misunderstood why Aladdin and Shrek did well and just put a ton of famous people. It was a dumb idea and most have bad voices for cartoons.

I was a board artist. I'm now a director. I've been given drawings that were just a circle with two eyes and a mouth but I got it. I've GIVEN drawings that didn't even have two eyes a mouth! Literally a rectangle with a letter on it on one side of the frame and it came back perfect! It's fine!

If you're a director and you "can't draw", I can guarantee that if you just try anyway you will give PLENTY of information for a storyboard artist to be able to run with it. There is no need to use AI. Hand it to a storyboard artist and they might even have better ideas than what you thought of!

Matthew Lillard criticized the industry for prioritizing celebrities over voice actors in animation: “The ability to carry a film, as the lead of a film with only a voice, is a power very few people have. The idea that they keep hiring crappy celebrities to carry huge films is killing us.”
