Obsessed with this 1735 illustration of hammerhead sharks from Japan
I’d read a manga about them tbh. Two little hammerhead shark pals having fun adventures together
Proto-manga
I’ll never understand the bsky impulse to be confidently loud and wrong. Is it ragebait or do people genuinely believe what they’re posting? I have no idea
While we’re here: I think another reason younger adults have to constantly remind their parents that they are adults comes from having children later (if at all). Especially if you’re a woman, until/unless you have a child, you’re subconsciously viewed childish/selfish, not as an adult with agency
The way my mom and my aunt who have children talk about my other aunt who doesn’t have children (she really wanted them! It just wasn’t in the cards) is actually so crazy. She is almost 60 but I have never felt like they view her as a Real Adult for this reason.
have you seen Matsumoto Hoji's toad prints from the same timeframe? delightful!
