Thinking and writing about fragments, record keeping, and the processes of selection and deselection behind archival 'silences'....
ALSO chaired the launch of Holly Fletcher's wonderful new book this week - so new work and new thinking all round.

And that was preceded by our first article workshop - I cannot wait for everyone else to see the fantastic research - vegetal thinking, angry women, anodyne necklaces and humanist printers.
So dramatic! This was such a stimulating and generative event - have been turning over grains, practices, ephemera, voices, silences, and the difficult negotiation between the whispers of interiority and the loudness of structure all weekend...

What a week it's been.... Yesterday fresh scholarship from interdisciplinary experts pushed us to think about 'the' #EarlyModern in terms of race, environment, interregional connections, adaptions, eschatology, stop-start technological change and the 'slash' in the early/modern
Looking ahead to what promises to be a landmark gathering next year. It's the *60th anniversary* of @srsrensoc.bsky.social , the conference is taking place at the @warburginstitute.bsky.social, and the theme is explicitly inviting us to move beyond limits... Cannot wait - spread widely!!!!!

This was on the heels of Jonathan Sheehan's talk on his @princetonupress.bsky.social "On the Altar", a virtuoso display of the eddies and flows of sacrifice

Love the commitment to keeping the fragments. In case anyone wanted an illustration that archives aren't solely about accessing content… characteristically brilliant paper by @hsmurphy.bsky.social on the importance of researching the miscellaneous boxes for what exists outside the scheme

*Call for Papers* @srsrensoc.bsky.social has announced its next #conference. 'The Renaissance beyond Borders' frames the #Renaissance as a dynamic, interconnected process that transcends the chrono-geographical limitations of a fixed European moment.
