If you can't handle me at my Sydney Bing, then you don't deserve me at my Fable 5
This is crazy. I haven't been able to really explore 3d fluoddities in realtime before. The compression mangles it a bit, but I dropped the physics rate to 60fps and it's running really smoothly now. After I wander around the bubbling towers for a while, you can see me browse a few other mutations.
Trying one with full resolution and some motion blur. This took a minute or two to render. Fast enough that I can still interact/navigate with the camera.
With the lights on
I have learned an important lesson that hazard rate absolutely thrashes my acceleration structure. If I don't set it to do a full rebuild every frame when hazard>0, frames suddenly take 15 seconds and Fluoddity basically freezes.
Already looking really good, and it's an order of magnitude faster than the volume renderer. This took maybe 3-5 minutes. Excited to get a more sophisticated lighting model with some path tracing and denoising once my Claude cooldown resets.
