Pedestrians are supposed to understand that “Facilities of Public Accommodation” refers to, in part, public restrooms. Another sop to owners. Now explain why every single door to get inside is locked and, for years, security claims the building is under construction. Office workers come and go.
Informally reported this illegible sign for Harborwalk pedestrians to find public restrooms at InterContinental to @massdep.bsky.social in October 2025. I reported it formally in February 2026 and in March 2026. DEP acknowledged receipt in March 2026, three months ago. Do I need to file a FOIA? 🤔
What passes muster for families unable to afford $15 pretzels visiting a public park, $25/person day trips to Spectacle Island and (starting this month) $50/hour pedal boat rides on Fort Point Channel is an absolute disgrace. Scores of shameful examples have rolled out incrementally. Scores.
A roundtrip for a family of four from Boston to Peddocks on a Saturday/Sunday costs between $126.80 and $187.80 depending on age of the kids. See my Globe comment about inequities in access to the Harbor Islands during the days/times parents aren't working. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/06/19/l...
While Councillor Flynn threw roadblocks in the way of World Cup watch parties, block parties and fan parades (receipts: www.universalhub.com/2026/council...), other neighborhoods embraced the idea of "main streets" welcoming these events. Today in Savin Hill. 🔥 Info: www.dotnews.com/2026/06/13/j...
Inequity Watch 2026 Let’s fail to provide thousands of potential visitors with the details they need to plan a trip to the Tall Ships Parade of Sail (7/11), while focusing on sales of $225-$375 bleacher seats on taxpayer-owned Massport property. SailBoston.com
What’s sus are regulators that don’t care about the difference between FREE access and $25. Regulators that don’t know the difference between a “Snack Bar” licensed in a public park and a oyster bar w/ liquor license awarded the tenancy. The net impact of these incremental moves is sickening.
Learned last wk that @massdep.bsky.social failed to mention that Massport had filed an application re. use of Fish Pier public space for bleacher seats now selling for $225-$375 each. DEP also failed to mention a public comment period, now expired. I had been in good faith discussions for months.

Commonwealth Pier is one of few Seaport locations identified on Conventures’ SailBoston site for free, public viewing the Parade of Sail on 7/11. Hat tip to Fidelity-affiliate Pembroke Real Estate for expressly welcoming the public on 7/11, in this video by WCVB. www.wcvb.com/article/comm...

Peddocks Island, one of 34 Boston Harbor islands, is the only one that allows active seasonal camping.

After a decade-long transformation, Commonwealth Pier is reopening as a waterfront destination featuring public art, new businesses, expanded Harborwalk access, and climate-resilient design

With no public process, and no amendment to its Chapter 91 license at @massdep.bsky.social, BCM decided that a floating dock that had been licensed for free, public use and touch-and-go by boaters could be transformed into a commercial operation. Pedal boats, $25 for 30 minutes.
We're three (3) weeks away from the Tall Ships Parade of Sail on July 11. Can anyone explain why SailBoston's official map of Seaport viewing locations excludes Fan Pier Park, Pier 4 and the "Massport Viewing Area," and conflates $225-$375 per ticket bleachers on Fish Pier with free, public sites?
