The whole AI mess we're in has made me so deeply sad. And I feel like it's more than just "new thing bad I'm old raah"
It saps away at our humanity on just such a fundamental level. It's goal is to take away all agency and just let the AI do all the work. No skill involved from the humans

I understand AI DOES have uses, and it isn't all bad. However how it's all being accomplished just makes me so deeply sad and it feels like shouting into the void
So many ghouls come out of the woodwork to cry "You're just a luddite" or "the impact isn't that bad, this is the future"
A lot of these models are also trained on dubiously sourced material. And then hallucinate and don't even spit out correct data!
And this insane giant energy sucking chatbot machine is causing so much real world damage. It feels like personal computing is on the precipice of being snuffed out
And that's not even getting into the ethical and environmental impact it has. It's horrifying to see these companies are just building these massive data farms that are taking water and electricity away from the local populations. Like how did we lose the plot so badly
