@amorrow.bsky.social I have to take some umbrage with some of the statements in your piece about the law firm today: programming is very much *not* just right or wrong. It has measurable outcomes. But the accuracy of those outcomes is only as good as the completeness of the measurements taken.

With programming, a challenge is that performing the measurements is often a kind of programming process and there are also things that are hard to program measurements for. We call this writing tests. It often takes as much time or more than writing the code
Some programmers use AI for that too

Finally got a chance to see Mandalorian and Grogu. I actually liked it a whole lot. I know it’s kinda just a big “episode”, but it’s the kind of Star Wars story I’ve loved since I was a kid: something at the edges, showing us a galaxy you can tell a fun story in with fun characters.
I hope you can see how that can be a problem.
That said, as far as I know, Lawyers have no method of measuring the statements they make at all. Perhaps they ought to? Certainly if they want to continue using AI.
