It's never over, you can always learn new skills, and someone being ahead of you doesn't mean you'll never catch up. Fuck this crabs in a barrel mentality.
I saw a viral post like "if you haven't studied 3D all day all night since you were 14 then you're toast", meaning it completely sincerely. Lots of industry folks agreeing with them.
I can only say that's not been my experience at all and it sucks to see talented people trying to kick the ladder.
