2006-2024 I was on Twitter. Then the apartheid emerald mine nepo baby happened.
Artist. Lurking with my hoard of books, eating my feelings. I occasionally visit my studio to bash away at scrap metal. High voltage may be involved.

Final note: considering how much gaslighting we're constantly getting from the government and the media, reaffirming basic truths over and over again is actually kinda important. It is really easy to start internalizing our opponents' framing if that's all we hear.
Americans also have almost no social safety net and no financial security, so we are structurally limited in how much we can do to protest without risking ruin.
And you know, what do you expect people to do on social media? IT'S SOCIAL MEDIA. Unless I missed an "overthrow the government button," it's a place where all we can do is talk to each other. And yeah we often say the same stuff over and over because not everyone has the same ideas and information.
Personally, I get "fed up" with posts like *these*, which never seem to tell us exactly what Americans are supposed to do that they aren't already doing. Nationwide protests? Check. Mutual aid? Check. Court cases? Check. GOTV? Check. Contact reps? Check. Direct action? Check.
