Literally I think we are seeing a post war democratic problem where a significant portion of democratic voters aren't just willing, they're outright eager to vote to get rid of democracies and go some form of RW autocracy.
It is very dangerous to ever assume that the appeal of "Here is a list of "others" who are taking your prosperity from you and vote for us and we'll make sure you get it back" will fade for more than a cycle or two within the dominant group in a democracy.
