I recently got a large book of Darger incl. full process sequences for how he would treat magazine and advertisement clippings and its made me feel like i have over the past years become too focused on Drawing Pictures at the expense of Creating Images.

I think this has been why ive felt "unproductive" because ive fallen into habits that are comforting, but not satisfying.
Recently i checked in on an artist i liked on DA who made traced images of cartoon girls in sensible mary janes and was distraught to see them switch to AI. But, I was being unfair or even fetishistic in my desire for formally novel naïve images, at the expense of a strangers creative desires.
