The craziest thing about all of this is that when I started getting notifications from the @standupforscience.bsky.social discord server, I knew it was an active shooter situation. Not a fire, not a crazy pathogen leaking from a lab, but an active shooter.
I have over 2 years of research experience in various areas of virology, and I am currently finishing out my senior thesis work analyzing snRNAseq data from HIV+ donor tissues to find new HIV1 reservoir tissues, as well as working on molecular therapies for HIV reservoirs.

My research interests mostly lie in herpesviridae and lentiviridae; and are mainly focused on latency, reactivation, and the long-term effects of chronic viral infections (although as long as I’m working with a virus or antibodies I’m happy).
