Even IRL I get people saying to me, ironically "why don't you tell us what you really think" and there's nothing that disgusts me more than people who think that there's something wrong with having strong opinions about something. Unseasoned oatmeal as a person.
I really love @channelcaststation's work, and it's a crying shame what the greasy, social reject nerds did to them. I hope they return to doing vocaloid animation someday.
I've never really seen a main character written to be so repulsive at the same time that you know he really wants to be a good guy deep down. But everyone has met young men like this, and it's so uncomfortable watching him play out. And so satisfying when you reach the inflection point.
Without too many spoilers, the story is about a typical self-obsessed young man learning the hard way to have some self-respect and apply himself instead of just going with the flow and blaming everyone else for his problems.
And then he fights a bunch of bad guys who are like that too.
Turns out Re:Zero kicks ass. I hadn't watched it when it came out because I was already kind of sick of isekai at that point, and slept on it.
Decided to start watching and now I'm caught up and holy crap the character arc. The writing in this show is wild.
