Have not but I recommend Pimp and Trick Baby. Reading Donald Goines now “Never Die Alone” which is pretty great.
Will definitely watch, and want to see what you mean about 2012 (though I think I have an idea).
The horror is in the emptiness. I once had a dream that suddenly became lucid, the realization these were shells I conversed with for hours was terrifying.

Classic. Remember this was the first time I was horrified, then that horror being completely nullified in the course of two hours.
