we are in the dumbest and most dangerous possible situation with elections and democracy being undermined because a bunch of people don’t understand or don’t want to understand how basic counting works

This is because the DC Board of Elections is waiting to release results until everyone has voted, and there were lines of late-arriving voters at some election sites when polls closed. Josh could have easily learned about this (entirely reasonable) policy because the board publicly announced it.
