Narcissists insult and undermine others to dominated them, expecting others to capitulate to mollify them. If they can, they will only have relationships with others in which they have the power advantage, to get away with this behavior.
When the narcissist creates a mess, which is often, he expects everyone else to clean up after him while he walks away, because they will suffer the consequences of his actions. The only way to deal with the narcissist is to refuse to do what he wants, not to capitulate to him.
