I’m so serious that I think they should use this as an opportunity to send components of the original back to Anaheim and have two shows.
Disneyland gets Walt’s Worlds Fair version (1900s-20s-40s-60s) and Disney World gets its Horizons-esque sequel (1960s-80s-2000s-future).
No ads. No clickbait. No "breaking news." Park Lore is different by design – a place supported by Members instead of pageviews, and filled with quality-over-quantity art and storytelling. If you can, support it for even $2/month. Thank you for visiting! parklore.com/join
And that foundation opens up into worlds of "theme-park-able" ideas – from-scratch "armchair Imagineering," creative concepting, deep dive podcasts, and full Build-Outs that envision what could be if "what if...?" became real. parklore.com/links/
Through #ParkLoreArt, I hope that "all who come to this happy place" can find fresh ways to see the parks – new perspectives! Deep histories! Unexpected contexts! Data viz! Real citations! Those are the "lenses" that change how we see rides, lands, parks, and the industry...!
PINNED: Theme park fans! Armchair Imagineers! EPCOT historians! California Adventure apologists! Coaster counters! Dark ride nerds! ✨ Park Lore is my collection of stories & art meant to help us all see the parks we know and love through a new lens. parklore.com/links 🧵⤵️
Here's an updated look at the refreshed BUZZ LIGHTYEAR'S SPACE RANGER SPIN. This original Buzz ride re-used the track layout of If You Had Wings and its aviation-themed successors, cleverly wrapping around Tomorrowland's CircleVision theater! #LayoutTuesday #ParkLoreArt
In practice, the "early ending" feature was turned off because... who wants a third of a ride experience? But Laberinto del Minotauro is still a really compelling, impressive dark ride that's stunning in its execution...! Check it out! buff.ly/aPWnhXQ
This is seriously a beautiful ride, with incredible sets and animatronics. But its big innovation was using a trackless dark ride system (before Tokyo's Pooh!) to actually "eject" vehicles that don't score high enough to proceed. Two early exits separate riders from the Minotaur!
#LayoutTuesday returns with LABERINTO DEL MINOTAURO at Spain's Terra Mítica. This trackless dark ride opened with the mythology-themed park in 2000. It's a genuine marvel, but it's most unique feature is that some riders don't get to the big finale at all... #ParkLoreArt 🧵
