Since then I've come out to him 3 more times (as trans, as a lesbian, and as demisexual most recently) and each time he's approached it with love and acceptance first and curiosity second, and has done a lot of work in his professional life as a minister to push for LGBTQIA+ acceptance in church
Watched some coming out videos on youtube and remembering the first time I came out to my dad at 16 as bisexual, the only thing he said to me for 3 days was "You know you're going to be bullied at school right?" 😂 Bless him since then he has been a staunch ally but it's funny to think back on
And then when I was ready to come out to my step-brother we were playing Forza 3 on my XBOX 360 and one of the NPCs was in the same car as me - he made a joke about showing up in the same dress and I leapt on the opportunity like "FUNNY YOU SHOULD SAY THAT..." 😅
The Equality and Human Rights Commission be like "Some people are more equal and should have more rights than others (and by others we mean trans people)"
