Today I stopped by Grove Gallery Evanston to see the latest art exhibition, "Radiance: Works about Light," curated by Sergio Gomez. I saw some fascinating works in various mediums, many by local artists. My friends Colette Wright Adams and Fletcher Hayes each had a painting in the show.
"No Kings" rally in Chicago. A peaceful, patriotic protest. Tens of thousands came out in downtown Chicago alone. Even more participated in suburban rallies.
Today my latest @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social book arrived--Recordings of Dead Languages. Poet Chad Heltzel gives us a look into natural history past and present and provides us with a record of disappearances (hmmm, sounds like an oxymoron) of species, languages, and knowledge in evocative imagery.
I'm excited to announce that @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social will be publishing my manuscript! The title is "Through the Bronze Mirror: Speculative Poems and Stories". It will come out next year.
Check out their other books! matchfactoryeditions.com/books
I'll be keeping you updated!

Today I caught this art exhibition just before it closes. I'm so glad I saw these vibrant landscape paintings by Kerri Mommer.
The closing reception is from 6 to 8pm, Friday, August 1st. Bernard Gallery at the Calumet College of St Joseph, 2400 New York Ave, Whiting. Free and open to the public.
Today is Publication Day! My book "Through the Bronze Mirror" is officially out! I'm deeply grateful to publisher @matchfactoryeds.bsky.social and editors RD Morgan and Snežana Žabić.
The book offers speculative poems AND short stories that I wrote over the past (mumble, mumble) years.
Lost Lake Pathway, in Michigan, has beautiful trails that go by water and through woods. I would have appreciated better signage. I got lost, although my hiking buddy ascertained where we were and how to get back to the car.
Last night I had a great time at the Epiphany Center for the Arts, where violinist Steve Gibons and guitarist Gabriel Datcu were in concert. They brought us jazz, Romanian gypsy music, some tango, and music from the Middle East. I couldn't stop smiling.
