Yes. Basically the last episode of nearly every series now spends most of the time pitching for another season rather than finishing the story properly -so loose ends are left untied or plots fudged just in case they want to keep story lines or characters going. You can spot it a mile off.

I preferred it when what happened was, you liked something, it had a clear beginning, middle and end, but because it was successful it got an ill-advised sequel, as opposed to the 20 year realisation that absolutely nothing in this series will ever get resolved.
