I think that identifying as a sex worker is more about understanding the risk vs reward of identifying with the term.
Sex workers are people who occupy the space that is criminalized enough to find more safety offered from saying those two words aloud than the danger they may experience by not.
I think there will be a big upswing in people/systems around us thinking they can take advantage of a big upswing.
