Most "wealth" is unspendable. It's often based on hinky math/inaccessible (tech stock/options) or a store of value (real estate, etc) which is also largely illiquid. It's not that these people can't access more money than they can ever spend. They can. But they can't access all their wealth.

Starter Villain really made me think about the value of a trillion dollars you can't spend. And my mind has wandered back to that quite a few times as the SpaceX IPO has been discussed.
