For me personally, being friends with a "gender critical" person would be broadly equivalent to a firefighter being mates with an arsonist.
I don't have any friends who are gender critical - I had but don't have - but I don't want to be absolutist about who we choose to be friends with. But I think it's really important to acknowledge your privilege, that *you* can choose to be friends with these people but *trans people* can't.
Everyone should be absolutist about not being friends with nazis.
